Cronyism is part of politics, but no one has exhibited the bravado of Bush, who doesn't even pretend his appointments are on merit. From Bernard Kerik to Alberto Gonzalez to Michael Brown, Bush has demonstrated clearly that he simply doesn't have a fucking clue how to manage a business (as he calls America). W, you put your nephews and such in the mail room. You put the cronies in harmless positions in middle management. You put the super-good cronies (your top fund raisers) in cushy ambassador slots to St. Lucia or Novia Scotia.

But any CEO knows you don't use mission-critical positions for paying back favors. You fucking dumbass, Bush. You've failed again, and this time you're bringing us all down with you.

We will never forgive you, or any of your horrible family members. You will go down in history as the abject failure everyone but you now sees.

1. It goes on and on and on.
What is it going to take to get rid of this moron? How can the congress disrespect the American people like this? Can we keep it on the frontburner until 2006?

5. These are two important points you both make
Brown being sent to his room without dinner is fine, but his incompetence displays and magnifies the incompetence of the person ultimately responsible for his hire...asshat-in-chief.

Can we keep it on the front burner? You betcha!
I'm not going to stop emailing, calling, writing, protesting, etc...are you? One day at a time, EVERY day!

7. Sometimes I Feel Very Alone
but I write and write and write. And email and email and email. And I can't wait until 9/24. I am confident that date will be a day in history for us.

9. I understand, abluelady
In the few weeks before Katrina, I started threads or posted on others with articles, quotes or polls with the prediction "Look at this! This is the tipping point!"

But what I have now come to realize is that there may not be a 'smoking gun' but rather, a thoughtful, passionate, incremental movement. Some from real (and about time!) investigative reporting (Time exposing Brown's bogus resume), some from usually moderate-to-right newspapers giving the WH a lashing and, most important of all, hearing from us as much as possible.

Katrina has put a lot of things in perspective, including politics. As we go along, we need to prove we can do many things at once. Compassion and aid to all the victims comes first and through that, we can show our ability to expose this criminal government, one by one. Brown hasn't been fired and is of course still in denial but he has been replaced. A good first step.

It looks as though the Plame investigation may be concluded soon and hopefully with some yummy indictments. * is sinking in the polls, the repugs continue with their crass and insensitive comments (please don't stop) and the 9/24 protest couldn't come at a better time. I mean, even Mehlman has to now can his 'southern strategy' campaign. They can kiss goodbye any hopes they may have had to lie and pander to 'get the black vote'. More fallout, as more and more people see them for who and what they really are.

This fight we are in has more twists and turns than a racetrack and * has more blood on his hands than a meat packer. Keep the faith. We will prevail.

2. He said he would run the country like a business and we all
know how well he ran his businesses in the past. He's running America in the ground just like the did in the past. I can't believe we can't "fire" this asshole.

4. You should edit that subject line to say "incompetent" cronies. Nominated.

10. especially after he slammed "inefficient federal bureaucracy"
Isn't that one of the major gripes of the neo-cons -- that public institutions such as government agencies and state universities are bloated and inefficient, filled with incompetent people? And of course they attack unions for "protecting" those who "deserve to be fired", or who "whine" too much.

It would be funny, except that a) people are dead because of this, and b) I've seen so many double standards from Bush and Co. that I'm not surprised anymore.
