who becomes president? Cheney? I'm half in fear that someone takes out the prez only to have Cheney as the new CIC. What then?

If Bushie goes, does DC go with him? What would happen then?

6. Cheney ooozes evil
He would have no ability to put a smiley face on horrific policies. Bushs single political ability is to stand up and tell the most outrageous lies with some measure of sincerity. Without the cover of a supposedly 'good man' like Bush the policies would be starkly exposed for the shallow and hardhearted agenda it is. I doubt the right would let Cheney assume power. Without the cover the agenda would go down FAST. That is why the right picks these moron presidents like Raygun and Bush. They have some wierd black magic ability to do evil right out in the open and people still think they are good people so the policies must not be that bad. No, Cheney would be a stake through the heart of the hard right agenda

It seems to me it will be easy to get rid of others. They are all peas in a pod.

9. I Forget What Happened Before
But Nixon and Agnew both were gone. Maybe we need Cheney to go first and then have a "decent" person appointed VP. Then we impeach Bush and this new person takes over?? Remember we're talking BIG IF'S here! :-)

10. Nixon and Agnew weren't gone simultaneously
First Agnew resigned and Gerald Ford became VP.

Then when Nixon left, Ford became President and appointed Nelson Rockefeller as his VP.

That is why I said Cheney has to go first. Poor guy could have a heart attack? Or resign for health reasons?

this is a powerful and dangerous regime. Bush will only be impeached if a great deal of the truth is acknowledged by many people. So I don't see how Cheney would become president. It likely would be a major shake up-but a very healthy one for the US and both parties IMHO. I think our not-as corrupt leaders would actually cooperate and come up with a contigency government until a national election could be held.
It might even be a verifiable one-as I said I think if an impeachment occurs- more and more of the truth will be revealed; 911, election fraud, war lies (good bye Cheney) perhaps even Cheney's plans to nuke Iran will be cheked out, the Rove/treason related investigation and Katrina. Many of these issues- in some ways ALL are inter-related to various degrees.
sometimes i think folks are just whispering about the Cheney thing as a deterant to too US pushing for too much of the truth coming out- like just play nice or the really bad boy will be in charge.- That IMHO is very silly because he already is.

these are desperate men that want to win at any cost to US, so we are living in dangerous times. But we must not give up.

8. so even those in congress right now are suspect and probably
willing to 'tolerate' until the next election? So where does change come from? Revolution to create a new leader who ends up as bad as what we have? What do we have as recourse?

12. Which would be fine if they were given strict rules or serious checks
BushCo seems to make the rules as they go and fuck all else. There doesn't seem to be any way to stop them. I'd want the successor to have limits.

11. Don't forget the power of symbolic wins
Of course, if Bush was impeached and nothing else changed, that would suck, but let's keep in mind, it is a good (great) thing that Saddam went down, but many of his lower people just as evil as him are still in power. That doesn't make it worse that he went down -- Saddam's fall is still a sign to the evil doers that they can be caught and taken out...

Unfortunately, that's never been proved for one of the Bush-admin evil doers.

It would be good for any of them to get a job loss and have to be unemployed for a minute.
