I guess if we don't like a leader, we got the right to take them out. If that's the view of our former head diplomat-how can we expect other countries not to start wars?

6. Got it in one
Powell's conscience doesn't bother him for the thousands and thousands who died at his whim, but he makes a big show about being regretful, but as we all know, talk is notoriously cheap. He makes no concrete atonement for his misdeeds, just cashes another check for money he didn't earn, and goes merrily on his way, with the encomiums and accolades of the media insiders and elites singing him to sleep.

I will believe something fundamental in America has been recovered when Powell is jailed for crimes against humanity.

3. Because we should once and for all lose ALL respect for him and stop
hoping that he will do something heroic and decent. I actually could not stomach the interview yesterday and mostly watched the Dateline instead which was good, very much along the same lines as the NPR reporting earlier in the afternoon on what went wrong. Let the Powells and the Bushes enjoy their dinners together and let us stop holding our collective breath that Powell will come through for us.

5. don't forget

that Powell's real reason for back this war was that he was the guy who formally won the Kuwait war, i.e. was Chief of Staff, and he saw that victory slipping away as a historical accomplishment (such as it was).

I.O.W., Powell's ego did him in.
