Why Sept 24 MUST be Non-Violent
I can hardly believe this:

U.S. Can Confine Citizens Without Charges, Court Rules

By Jerry Markon
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, September 10, 2005; Page A01

A federal appeals court yesterday backed the president's power to indefinitely detain a U.S. citizen captured on U.S. soil without any criminal charges, holding that such authority is vital during wartime to protect the nation from terrorist attacks.
**********

This is why they want never-ending war. How long before protesters are labeled 'enemy combatants' or 'terrorists' ?

Oh, that's right, they are already doing this:

New Documents Show FBI Targeting Peaceful Protesters in Colorado as Potential Terrorists

August 2, 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: media@aclu.org

DENVER -- The American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado today released new documents that it says confirm that the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) is inappropriately treating people who engage in peaceful protest as potential terrorists. This is the true reason why they packed the courts (they don't care about abortion, which would surprise the base)

**********************************

There will be 'troublemakers' planted in the protests. We should organize and figure out a way to address these people in a unified way.

They are called 'Agents Provocateur' (google it).

Please pass the word to anyone you know who will be participating in our Constitutional Right to Peaceful Protest.

3. I don't think the OP was intending to scare people away
Emotions are running high - do you not think that ensuring the demonstration is peaceful is high priority?

Anyone who is coming to start a fight should just stay home.

2. I could not possibly agree more.
And with the freepers showing up, it just adds one more stressor on the protest.

I know that I am not the only one that is angry at Bush, FEMA, and even anyone that still supports the chimp. But I am not going to incite violence, it will only hurt our cause, and could possibly be a catalyst for further erosion of what little shred of a democracy we have left.

4. That's why it's important for demonstrators to police themselves
If you really feel that a nonviolent protest is important, you should volunteer to be an event marshall. You'll have to go through a training program and wear a silly yellow vest, but the job is essential to putting a lid on provocateurs and crazies.

5. Communication is the Key
The main thing is for everyone who is involved in any protest, to be aware of these facts, and to discuss and pass along what to look for.

The Bush Administration is getting desperate, and I wouldn't put anything past them.

Ohio
Written by Neil Young, performed by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Tin soldiers and Nixon's coming,
we're finally on our own
This summer I hear the drumming,
four dead in Ohio

Gotta get down to it soldiers are gunning us down
should've been done long ago
what if you knew her and found her dead on the ground
how can you run when you know?

Gotta get down to it soldiers are gunning us down
should've been done long ago
what if you knew her and found her dead on the ground
how can you run when you know?

Tin soldiers and Nixon's coming,
we're finally on our own
this summer I hear the drumming,
four dead in Ohio
four dead in Ohio
