Edited on Sat Sep-10-05 04:56 PM by Joanne98
The 4th Circuit decision could also play a role in the debate over who President Bush will nominate to the Supreme Court seat to be vacated by Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. The decision was written by Judge Michael Luttig, a favorite of conservative groups who is considered to be among the leading candidates for the nomination. He was joined in the ruling by judges William B. Traxler Jr. and M. Blane Michael, both Clinton administration appointees.

Bush is such an asshole, I think he'll pick him just to piss off the Dems!

5. I'm thinking the same
Either Garza or Edith Brown Clement.

Both of whom are, frankly, detestable. Either is far worse than even Roberts, who is bad from liberals' point of view, no doubt, but is another Rehnquist rather than a rabid, frothing Scalia or Thomas.

3. that makes sense
If Luttig wrote the opinion that Bush could lock up anyone he pleased and the Consitution be damned, I could see where he'd be on the Shrub's short list. Think that he would ok a Bush dictatorship in return for the SC nod?
