VP Cheney hopes 'lessons learned' from Katrina (no Bush reference)

AUSTIN, United States (AFP) - US Vice President
Dick Cheney said many lessons were to be learned from Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, as he thanked aid workers on behalf of survivors.

"It's really been a tremendous performance in terms of what's happened here, thanks to the great work of the people like the mayor, all the volunteers, the governor and all of his people, the state of Texas has really turned to them in remarkable ways and done a lot of things right," Cheney said.

He spoke during a visit to workers responsible for getting aid and supplies to survivors displaced by the hurricane.

"I think the lessons will be fairly widely disseminated," he said at a convention center, where about 2,000 storm survivors were welcomed. Cheney made no reference to the buffeting his boss, President George W. Bush, has taken over his administration's slow initial response to the storm.

3. You should put a warning in your subject line.
That picture of a flood-bloated corpse at the top of the post is quite terrifying!

4. Cheney, you are responsible for what your boss does....
Its always the bottom line of money, power and business. Bush* isn't even smart enough to run a country, so you run it for him. How many billions did you steal yesterday, I wonder....

6. Mr. Cheney, the biggest lesson from Katrina is that as far as Homeland
Defense is concerned, we're absolutely fucked.
