HUDSON - They lost their homes to Hurricane Katrina, and came with strangers to Florida for a fresh start. But on Friday about 11 p.m., they found themselves evicted all over again.
The ragged collection of seven family members and friends, ages 4 to 29, were kicked out of a Pasco County homeless center after the director who brought them there said they broke curfew and were drinking and "carrying on."

"The lady" is Lisa Barabas-Henry of Holy Ground, Pasco County's largest, all-inclusive homeless shelter. A couple of days after Katrina, Barabas-Henry loaded a caravan of buses with food, medicine and water and headed to the stricken region. She has made two trips there, bringing back evacuees and putting them in tents at her shelter.

Last week, several more traditional aid providers were alarmed when they learned
evacuees were living in tents at Holy Ground. Officials with the Red Cross and Pasco County said the evacuees were being isolated from outside services.

Saturday, she sat in her office, a converted mobile home, trying to manage the influx of donations.
Outside, so many people were coming to give that she hired off-duty sheriff's deputies to direct traffic out front. Volunteers with name tags collected the stuff spilling out of trunks and back seats.

The family went out to dinner and broke the 8:00 curfew. IMHO this ia only a money maker for this lady and her "church".
