And I don't know about your state, but in mine, the Repubs hold the governorship and control the legislature...and the Dems again have little power.

And what, exactly, do you mean by the courts? You referring to elected judges? Any that are appointed these days, are likely to be Repub-appointed.

I agree in theory, on being anti-DINO. But, if the Dems won't run a progressive, there's little choice. DINO or Repub. Unless the Greens run a candidate (they didn't run any in Missouri in 2004, that I know of) Which leaves...what? Write-in? Libertarian?

19. I'm sorry, but having barely 50 votes for two years in the Senate does not

equal "being in power", at least not to me. Ands sadly, we lost that parity in 2004. Sure, they could have rejected him on a party line vote back then but Bush would have merely replaced him with another hack. However little any of us like it, Bush holds the title of president, has a majority of both houses of congress (at least until November 2006) and has the right to make appointments.

I don't like it either, but the Democrats do not currently have the power to do anything more than obstruct-and even that is very limited.

We've come to expect so little from our so-called leadership that some rank and file Dems actually get excited if they pen a 'policy statement' or threaten not to attend a rigged investigation.

We've been watching the Bush Pirates LOOT our treasury for four years now. We've also watched as our own party has done nothing about it. It's hard to understand and many of us are beginning to suspect that certain Dems are getting a share of the booty in exchange for keeping quiet.
