Huckabee (R): Feds no help, FEMA didn't know AR had 75K evacuees
6:38 A.M. - LITTLE ROCK, AR (AP): Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee says the aid his state is providing to victims of Hurricane Katrina is being given almost entirely without federal help.

The governor says the state is doing a good job of helping storm refugees but says he is frustrated that people within the federal government do not seem to grasp the enormity of the disaster.

Huckabee said that a Federal Emergency Management Agency official asked him on Wednesday whether Arkansas had taken in any refugees. Huckabee noted that Arkansas had about 75,000 refugees.

Huckabee credited private groups, volunteer organizations and churches for getting together to help storm victims -- giving them shelter, food and seeing to their other needs.

2. If they continue to behave as who they are,
...they'll be a stone around every R's neck.

Could be politics, could be that thing that occasionally trips up a repub: conscience

It blows me away that the feds still have NO sense of what is occurring.

""It blows me away that the feds still have NO sense of what is occurring.""

This is just so hard to grasp. It's so very pathetic. I grew up respecting my government. Now...not so sure.
