I saw a handwritten letter from Bush....
... written in May of 2000 when he was campaigning against Al Gore, to one of his more ardent supporters. Again, this was no form letter -- it was written in Bush's own hand, on his personal stationary, front and back.

In it he excoriates Clinton and Gore no less than 8 times, using their names and saying really outrageous things about them. Rethug talking points that were obscene in their lies.

How in the world Bill Clinton can sidle up to him and his father now is beyond me. And in fact it disgusts me. The democrats must have some kind of Stockholm syndrome or something.

I agree. I feel totally abandoned by Bill Clinton. He is dancing with the devil.

5. No, wish I did
Just some old senile republican showing it to me. He was so proud of it. "Love Bush, love his father" he said with complete passion. It wasn't the time or the place, but I wanted to ask, why in the world do you?

10. Text of Letter?
I'd be interested in both the text and the handwriting. Has there ever been a president who has so little personal documentation? Small wonder we make jokes about the size of his future presidential library as being two coloring books and a copy of My Pet Goat with the hard words spelled out phoentically. And there certainly won't be any "Letters from Ronnie" type books unless they make the margins really wide and the font really, really big. Oh, and lotsa pictures 'cause we know how this guy lives for pictures.

Although I suspected when I read it that he was just copying from some script he had been given. There was no question that it was penned in his hand though.

edited for typo

6. Well, not all democrats, I'm sure.
And then there's John McCain--his big ol' bear hug with his buddy Bush, sharing the birthday cake, etc., etc., after Bushco attempted to demolish McCain's reputation during the 2000 primary. There's enough outrage to go around on all sides--but maybe the Bush *** kissing days are about to be over. Let us hope so!

7. "Primary Colors"
I refused to see this movie, let alone read the book, when both came out, because I figured Joe Klein was just bashing my Bill Clinton, and I was not about to be party to that.

A while back, I watched the movie on TV.

Sad to say, Klein nailed both Clintons for the scheming, immoral beings that they are. It was sad beyond belief, but also a bit of a relief, because at least now I understand his sucking up to the Bushes.

Simply put, they will do and say anything to win. After all, Clinton is the President who signed the Defense Of Marriage Act, one of the most discriminatory, punitive, shameful pieces of legislation ever enacted in our United States.

My infatuation is over.

11. I was never all that infatuated to begin with
... but yeah, he lost me after DOMA. I know its sacraglige to say so, but I truly blame Clinton for the downfall of the democratic party.

After him, how could the party actually stand up for democratic principles? It just begged the remarks made by Naderites that there was no real difference between rethugs and dems. Now I know that's not true, but there wasn't a heck of a lot difference between Clinton and Bush. Just too bad Gore got tagged with that.

9. Bill looks like a FOOL everytime he stands with these guys. Kind
of like the little nerd the football bullies torment every day, but who trieds to hang them every time they let him. That's what Bill loks like to me. Thing is, that nerd ends up head down in a dumpster everytime. I'm just waiting for * to blame the levees on Clinton.
