Are New Orleans refugees going to be able to vote?
I was just wondering if people who can't go home are going to be able to vote. Are people made homeless by the hurricane going to be able to meet residential requirements if they are in a Fema camp? What if they are moved too close to an election to meet residency requirements. Will they be able to register?

I think it's a safe bet that Republicans will see it to their benefit to not let anyone in this situation vote.

2. They are American Citizens. They are evacuees NOT refugees.
Refugees are displaced persons from other counties who come here.

NOLA has a mayoral election coming up in 6 months. I believe that those residents who have not permanently relocated should be able to vote by absentee ballot.

3. Those in Texas...
only have to be residents here for 30 days to be eligible to vote. I feel quite sure that we have activists working around town getting them registered.

4. After years of Perrymandering in Texas
I feel sure that these folks will be "prevented" from voting. Or their votes won't count the same way, if they are even counted. It might upset the "delicate" new lines that were drawn to protect Delay and poor snivviling Henry Bonilla who couldn't possibly be re elected without one rich section of San Antonio. Henry Cuellar the new dem in name only must be protected at all costs too.

5. You bring up an important issue, "their votes won't count the
same way" I think removing these Americans from this area alters the Political landscape of the entire state.
