Bankruptcy bill needs to be suspended for Katrina victims
I personally am in not that position and do not know anyone else in this precarious position, but these victims need protection.
We still have families torn apart and I cannot imagine what this is like. I am a mother, and to imagine I do not know what has become of my only daughter would be unimaginable to me. She is 21, but to be a mother of a very young child, lost to this fiasco would be hell.
Families are trying to reconnect...they do not know if their loved ones in many cases are even ALIVE!
Please, please for God's sake, do not further burden them with debt they can never repay.
The hurricane and/or the levees breaking was not their doing.
Do the right thing and suspend the bankruptcy rules for these people.
To do otherwise is cruel.

3. Of COURSE they deserve
a break, as do all the victims of Katrina. IMVHO, the whole country is a victim of Katrina, re: gas prices (gouging), our tax dollars going to pay mercenaries to "secure" NO and other areas hit by Katrina, the economic impact on the country, the fact that it is obvious these criminals have no plan whatsoever, to protect we, the people, in an emergency! These reasons are just the tip of the iceburg!

Hell YES the bankruptcy bill needs to be suspended...

5. 17 Senators led by Feingold are proposing a bill to delay the bill
Something is also proposed in the House.

Unfortunately, I doubt this will be adopted.
