1. This is so nerve wreckin
I am not a women mind you but there are reproductive medicine i.e. stem cell that people need regardless of gender. People forget that the term pro life is a nice easy way to id christian right wingers. So an other words why should men be worried about Roberts is nomination? "Pro Life is more than about one issue it's about many issues that are wrapped into a nice easy package.

2. The CSPAN callers, the RW fundies, & RW white men all scare me.
Did you know that abortions have gone up during the * years? Despair and unemployment and low wages make families unable to support children.

RWers love the fetus but hate the baby. They refuse to provide contraception, prenatal care, medical care, housing or education for the children of this country.

5. Our infant mortality rate is higher than many third world countries.
That means our babies are dying before the age of one year at a faster rate than in third world countries.

"The UN report reveals that the infant mortality rate has been rising in the US for the past five years - and is now the same as Malaysia. America's black children are twice as likely as whites to die before their first birthday."

http://www.commondreams.org/headlines05/0908-06.htm

So this rate has been steadily increasing the whole time brush has been in office.

And now black babies are dying off a lot faster than white babies. Hmmm I seem to see a pattern here.

These anti-choice folks really do have a pro-life out look. But it applies only to fetuses and white babies.

6. Hate the baby, hate the child (underfund the schools,
screw welfare, forget about government aid), hate the adult, hate the elderly.

Unless you're a fetus or braindead, you're fucked if you can't manage to make enough money on your own to live.

And even if you're a fetus, they won't help you. How many pro-lifers do you see ready to dole out money to pay for the births? Nah, let the girl take care of it, she was irresponsible anyway. And sometime soon, you can bet that they'll cut any government funding for births for poor people. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point they make it illegal to have a baby while not married, while also making it illegal to have an abortion.

7. A CSPAN caller said people shouldn't have sex except to procreate.
That's not going to happen. In what alternate universe do these people live? It must be a sex free universe.

8. And I bet that person considers him/herself to be Christian,
a good, solid Bible-based Christian, who's likely never read the Bible in any critical or thoughtful way - esp. Song of Solomon.

Assholes.

10. Was that the nutcase who said
her sex education consisted of her mother telling her to stay in well lit places with lots of people around and her father telling her that she could outrun any guy with his pants around his knees? She was absolutely serious that following her parents' advice was the best approach.

9. "Love the fetus but hate the baby"
That sums it up perfectly. I've been saying for a long time these people have a fetus fetish; once the baby is born, they no longer give a shit.

14. It's not about the fetus
It's about controlling women. And if you want to get simpler about it, it's about controlling "poor" people. You know damn well that even if abortions and all birth control are banned, then the rich women will still be getting what they want/need.

But poor people (that includes people who call themselves middle class) will just have more babies, spend more money, and get into more debt. The most important thing to note is that, generally, people with big families do not save very much money -they tend to spend rather than save. This is what the GOP wants and this is the REAL reason they are "pro-life". It doesn't hurt that they picked up a big part of the country who believe in banning abortions and birth control for religious reasons, but the GOP is in it for the money, not the religion.

Bigger gulf between the haves and havenots. It's not about the fetus.

17. No, it's not about the fetus or the Mother. It's all about promoting
their OWN Religious beliefs. They've been taught all their lives that THEIRS is the ONLY REAL & RIGHT beliefs and it is their job in life to convert all athers to the right one so all can go to heaven.

I know this is true! The really funny part is that each sect believes that "only theirs" is the right one, so there's an conflict inside this whole religious movement too!

Somehow, someone (Probably Rove) who got them all to recognize there is at least 2 items of common ground...Abortion and Gay rights.

18. you're still missing my point
the politicians aren't arguing pro-life bcs of any religious beliefs. They're doing it as a means to control women/poor/middle class.
