Yesterday here in Minneapolis and St. Paul we had our mayoral primaries in both cities. RT Rybak in Minneapolis beat his closest competitor by 10 percent. RT is a progressive democrat.
Randy Kelly a "democrat" came in a distant 2nd to his challenger...I believe he lost by 12 percent. Oddly enough Randy Kelly made a big day of endorsing the Idiot Frat Boy in 2004. Just now on the news they asked him if he thought that may have had anything to do with it.
I think the times might just be a changing.

We too had a "progressive" Dem win a primary yesterday over "mainstream" Dems. Now, the challenge is not only to win the General but to keep "progressive heat" on the nominee...

That's not a comment on this particular individual, btw, who seems quite genuine, but on the general state of affairs and entropic tendency of almost all Pols to grow timid in office.
