Picture this:

60-second ads featuring good, progressive Dem governors, mayors, etc. who are doing great things. About three quick examples per ad. About three versions of that part of the ad.

After that, there should be a segment that says something like: "and on the national level, we've protected Social Security and turned back attempts to curtail our most basic civil liberties, protected kids... etc."

And the very end of the ads, this message: "The Democrats. Old-fashioned good government. Isn't that what we need most?"

1. I'm starting to hate party politics now

I care more for principles at this point than the Party itself. You don't need to be a Democrat to be a progressive. You just need the ability to feel for your fellow human being and the ability to reason. At this point, a coalition of independents could probably do more damage to Republicans than a Democratic Party that's slowly being overrun by corporate special interests, the same kind that helped build the Republican Party into what it is today.
