7. Williams talked about de factor martial law in NO tonight.

Said he had an eerie feeling with all the troops controlling the streets.

He talked about being in the Superdome with the evacuees and said "not all of them lived."

He thought it was strange for Bush to speak in Jackson Square. Called it a "beauty shot." Basically, he wondered why Bush didn't speak in front of a devastated area to make it real and not just staged.

Brian Williams talked about how the lives of his children may be deemed worth more than the lives of children in New Orleans. He was doing some serious talking.

It's like with anything. Bush doesn't care about anybody unless it's for PR that can make him better and then his policies are to help make him and his friends richer and he only helps his friends because they help him and he can call on them in the future to help him.

9. I am gaining more and more respect for Brian Williams

and Anderson Cooper, and Jack Cafferty (?) and Aaron Brown from CNN. These guys are stepping up - even Tweety was sounding combative before Bush's speech. He must have gotten the memo during the speech, though, because he was a pussycat again (a nice one, not a Tweety-eater) after the speech.
