"Fox Fans" speak out: "I thought it was as good as the 9/11 speech"
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,169462,00.html

"Bush is an embarrassment to this nation. We have become a laughing stock to the world. This hurricane has proved he has no clue how to secure this nation. Wake up America and impeach this man before he completely ruins this nation!" — Madeline

"I thought it was as good as the 9/11 speech. He spoke to what needs to be done and what how it needs to happen." — Christie

"Just the fact that President Bush has taken the time tonight, is a comfort. Many will never be satisfied. I'm not one. The world is paying attention and we must all do our part. The President is one of many who understand that they would rather focus on fixing the problems and helping fellow humans than dwelling in those problems. I support the efforts of President Bush, far over the anything I've seen from state and local government officials." — Sherri (Yucca Valley, CA)

"I am totally disgusted with the current administration, so now we are going to reward people with free land and homes in the affected regions because they were stupid enough to live below sea level? I guess I'm the idiot here for going to work every day, taking out a mortgage to pay back double what my house is worth over 30 years and provide for myself and family. Taxpayer money should not be used in case of a flood. Everyone who lives in a flood-prone region has the opportunity to purchase flood insurance to avoid this type of tragedy. If you can't afford it, then you should not live there or you assume the risk of rebuilding yourself." — Keith

6. Message to Keith
If a burglar breaks into your house, rapes your wife and kids, and sets fire to your home, it will be your fault if you didn't have a security system and didn't live in a gated community with 24/7 patrols. If you can't afford that, your ruined life and loved ones are your own problem. Boo-hoo, you unfeeling, monstrous, selfish jerk.

"I am a black American male who wants to say to people who think that President Bush hates black people that listening to the president's speech it seems to me that the president not only loves ALL people, but he has now shown that immediate money and assistance is available to all evacuees. That speaks volumes alone that he is a man of passion and does what he means!" — Deric (Las Vegas, NV)

Suuuuure you are.

35. Mr Show with Bob and David. A late 90s HBO sketch comedy show.
It was a little weird but I think it was funny as shit. Long story short. They had an episode where the US deiced to blow up the moon. Just because he could. So the president Guy Whitey Corngood gave scientists the go-ahead. On one side you had protesters saying we shouldn't do it. On the other you had people hanging ribbons and country singers supporting it. I swear it was almost prophetic. Just substitute the moon for Iraq.

difference is on the show it was played for laughs - now it is playing out for real and the results are sooooooooo disturbing.

EXCELLENT choice for a DU name!

23. I may be chastised for this, but part of me agrees with Keith
Putting people in the same kind of position that they were in before the hurricane is fine with me, and I fully support that. However, putting people in a better position than they were before the hurricane bothers me.

Now, as to Sherri and Christie's comments--they are a bunch of total idiots. I cannot understand why these Bush lovers cannot see through him.

37. The illusion that the misadministration is guided by god
as still ringing through my head and causing brain expectoration. The idea of making the injured whole is, in an enlightened society, of such a second nature that its almost to be expected. The notion of empowering the storm's victims to exceed their previous level of existence is indeed an attractive one, leaving aside the the value of strengthening the moral value to society, the possibility of their economic success means more assets and fewer victims the next catastrophe will produce.
So the allusion to the coat (one of my favorite Jesus lines) is the absolute need for the minimum but the idea of giving a bit more than that may be a good investment all around, tangible as well as intangible.

Otherwise NO would still be ass deep in water in 90% of the city. Yeah,Bush is a hell of a guy,he's going to do this and that and make NO the best ever.

Uh huh...only after being FORCED to over media and NO evacuee's OUTRAGE and plummeting poll numbers.

I suppose "SHE" has a cause to promote at the Boston Globe and on FOX News and she intends to forward it through those forums.
