2. If we could help take care of people properly ALL of the time...

there wouldn't be the poverty, and these people could have had the same chances that non-impovershed people had to evacuate and protect themselves.

I'm not talking welfare, I'm talking health insurance, I'm talking reasonable minimum wages and protection for people who honestly could make a living ... even the ones doing "work Americans won't do" ... I suggest there are many people who would gladly work in any industry and do it with pride if they didn't have to worry about getting sick and didn't have to worry about their bank account scraping the bottom more than once a month.

I'm not talking just minorities or just elderly or just children ... everyone who does 40 hours of work a week should not have to scrape to pay their car insurance or rent or mortgage or for groceries.

I heard a news report about a community who made room for approximately 50 people to live temporarily, and then nobody showed up because by that time everyone had pretty much been worked out and didn't want to travel so far. Natural disasters aren't the only time that there are people in need.

Crime went down in the 90's because people had jobs, there were ways to get by if you lost your job, and well-fed people do not riot.

and they ought to take just the action that you recommend.

Smeone also ought to tell him, you are standing by and for the people? well then lets get John Roberts away from the supreme court and name someone who will make sure that the rights and interests of the people are served.
