Jack Cafferty: he seems somewhat popular at DU now, but...
wasn't this guy a total bush whore during campaign 2004? i remember him angrily running down dennis kucinich for no good reason at all.

sure, i'm glad to see the old curmudgeon running down bushco regarding katrina...but wasn't he a hate spewing repuke dirtbag last year? i seem to remember him that way.

2. Actually, no...Cafferty was the only guy on CNN to trash Bush regularly
He can't stand the guy. He's an old curmudgeon, but he's been around the block a few times, and knows when he's being screwed. I believe his constant sniping at Sosobad and the late Bill "Ken" Hemmer re: their fawning over LBushJ, is the reason he was taken off the morning show. Now that the majority of America hates Bush, CNN figures it's safe -- and potentially economically wi$e -- to allow him back in prime time.

4. That's not the way I remember it...
He was one of the reasons I began my CNN Boycott during the Primaries.

But, as I've said, it's all in they eye of the beholder...

3. if you think about it, that makes hime MORE influential now
with the people on the right, people who might be influenced to see the light. If those RW-oriented folks identify with Caffery because of his past critiques, they may find themselves actually listening and thinking about his views this time, more so than they would if the criticism were coming from the left, where grilling B*shco would be expected.

So, he IS being helpful now and that's what DUers recognize. Also, I suppose there is hope here that other members of the MSM will start flipping like pancakes and start offering up some truth.

5. He's like Mikey in the old cereal commercial...
"Give it to Mikey to try. Mikey hates everything."

Cafferty's crankiness is refershiong when it's aimed in the same direction as our crankiness. But inevitably, he'll also aim it at us or our sacred coes too.

He's a professional complainer, for better or worse. He's not an advocate.
