You think the Arctic is a big deal? It is nothing comapred to the last, wild roadless lands in our country. You see, while the Bush admin is busy shining the spotlight on the Arctic, they are attacking their real target - the millions of last wild roadless natioanl forest lands. These lands are:
1.rare
2.offer the best scenery in the country
3.offer the best hiking, fishing, hunting and wildlife watching
4.provide drinking water for 60 million Americans
5.provide a dark night sky for stargazing
6. border many national parks. Without these lands, many National Parks would simply fade away.
Please sign this petition to protect our last great wild roadless national forest lands.
http://ga1.org/campaign/roadlesspetition?source=200509_adv_roadvirOnce again, the Bush Administration has launched an attack on America's natural heritage, this time going after our last remaining wild forests. Earlier this year, the Bush administration announced their plans to completely repeal the Roadless Area Conservation Rule that protects over 60 million acres of unspoiled forests from oil drilling, mining, road building and other destructive development.
Don't let the Bush Administration auction off our wild forests to the highest bidder! Our wild forests can't wait - sign the Citizen's Petition now.
