Zarqawi is dead ???
so says the imam of a large Baghdad mosque ... he claims the Americans are just using him as a "bogeyman" ...

likely? i have to be skeptical because that would mean our own government is lying to us for propaganda purposes ...

Al Qaeda’s leader in Iraq, Abu Musab Al Zarqawi, is dead but Washington continues to use him as a bogeyman to justify a prolonged military occupation, an Iraqi Shia cleric said in an interview published here on Friday.

Sheikh Jawad Al Kalesi, the imam of the al-Kazemiya mosque in Baghdad, told Le Monde newspaper: “I don’t think that Abu Musab Al Zarqawi exists as such. He’s simply an invention by the occupiers to divide the people.”

Kalesi claimed that Zarqawi was killed in the Kurdish northern region of Iraq at the beginning of the US-led war on the country as he was meeting with members of the Ansar Al-Islam group affiliated to Al Qaeda.

1. Maybe he never lived. . .
which would make the American use of him even more self-serving.

Just a thought to ponder on a Sunday afternoon.

2. Yeah, like we can trust either side on this one. How many times has he
died now? ANd lost limbs?

Face it, our government may as well be the old Soviet government. They are spending us into oblivion to prove their failed ideals, and they are lying to us about everything just because their instinct is to avoid the truth.

4. Hopalong Zarqawi is the "Emmanuel Goldstein" of this Orwellian nightmare..
...or since all we have seen of him is a computer generated composite sketch, you could also call him M-M-M-MAX T-T-T-TOWELHEADROOM!

7. Isn't it strange that Zarqawi is the boogeyman now, not Osama?
When was the last time you heard Dubya even utter OBL's name?

This, to me, along with the fact that Osama only pops up at moments which DIRECTLY BENEFIT the Chimp, is even more circumstantial evidence that the Bush empire is in league with the bin-Ladens--and by extension, al-Qaeda--in just about every way. I have never been one to wear a tinfoil hat, but as Sherlock Holmes said, when you have eliminated all that is impossible, whatever remains (no matter how improbable) must be the truth.

8. He is most likely dead. Just like the "Al Qaeda #3" that they
always kill.

How fucking stupid are these people?

10. He's dead all right...
And so is Bin Laden. It's the Emmanuel Goldstein principle: A perpetual menace hiding in the shadows becomes justification for perpetual war.

14. I want proof
Every time they kill or capture someone, they post a picture that looks like it came out of a High school year book. Every time a tape was sent to us by OBL it was investigated by the FBI to see if it was authentic. Same as Collin Powell's speech at the UN. It's all propaganda, and I was so naive, I thought only other countries under dictatorship created propaganda.
