2. I thought Kerry's remarks were pretty powerful, you can find them
at Raw Story.

3. Neither is suprising to me in the least.
After all, in this mummer's play known as the two party, same corporate master system of government, how can it be suprising that the Dems are failing to respond in a meaningful and aggressive fashion? After all, they're both working for the same people, the corporations that fund them.

5. Sadly, nothing shocks me anynore about the Democrat's inability, and
unwillingness to get down and dirty, even when they have the bastards on the ground.

6. False Premise. . ."Democratic Cowardice"
Dems have been speaking out etc etc blah blah.

Why just today on DU I saw that Harry Reid posted a real recovery plan for NO
and that Kerry gave a speech laying the craven nature of this admin for all to see. Search a few pages back, I am sure you will find threads on both. And those are only two examples.

8. bush meltdown
in ther realm of politics, they don't make many mistakes in managing their message. i expect nothing from the democrats. isn't there some rule about not interfering when your opponent is beating themselves?

rove's kidney stones happened at the wrong time - coincidental with katrina.

10. Dems didn't jump - the truth got out - Bush found no "scapegoat". He

had to take responsibility himself. Whatever the Dems are doing - they need to keep on.

11. Yet they haven't tried
to fight Republicans in Congress when it comes to funding and investigating the Katrina mess. They're always a day late and a dollar short.

They should have been speaking out about Bush within days of the catastrophe, not nearly 2 weeks later. I can't decide if its cowardice or incompetence. Either way, its our party and we have to act as good stewards.

No one wants to get pushed this far, but we've been waiting on the current leadership to stand up to Bush for 6 years now. Time's up.
