Corzine is ahead in the polls, but there is still some residue of the corruption issue (from canvassing last weekend). Several people mentioned McGreevey. Now, you likely remember De Francisco pulled out because of corruption, but for some people it is an issue for the Democrats - though it had nothing to do with Corzine. But there are already ads trying to link Democrats/Corzine/Corruption. (A few weeks ago when Kerry predicted it could get nasty, because that's how the Republicans act - he was right.)

Our local paper is doing a massive multi-day, multi- article effort on property tax. I haven't read all of it, but there are some things that are not fair. One person they profiled compared her much lower Oklahoma Property taxes and said the schools were at least as good there. (SATs say otherwise, and ignore NJ is a high cost area) In my town, the man profiled has a LTTE in nearly every issue of our weekly local paper complaining about school costs. He heads a group called STOP. This is not random selection.

It would be better to get involved on the 2005 or we could be surprised with a conservative Republican Governor.
