It's not really a monotone IMO. He just seems reserved & calm, but I think his emotion does come through in a subtle way. His happiness & celebration were very clear to me during his speech.

If he is so wonderful how could he sit in the Senate for some 20+ years and let us get to the point we are now without raising some real he** about the way things are going.

There is nothing wonderful at all about the plutocratic rule we now "enjoy." He does not educate the people on PNAC, the consequences of a huge national debt coupled with a bunch of federal retirements, a falling dollar, higher oil prices, and a hugh trade deficit. He does not talk of how the US imperialism uses the drug war to take peasants land in Colombia for its oil even if it kills 35,000 "people" a year that he is so concerned about.

I want to hear someone say that democracy is dead, and we have to take our country back. The closest person that says that is DK.

Did Kerry vote for the tax cuts that was to wipe out the inheritance tax marketed by the Nazis as a death tax? Now that would say it all. Who has the answer. They got the 60 votes needes for a super majority

Also, how did Kerry vote on the Trade Authority handed over to Bush and did this not also need a super majority?

but I do think ALL the Dem candidates need a message. That includes Dean, who seems to be stuck on "I had the courage to stand up against the war." Last time I looked, no one asked him to vote on the war, he's not in Congress.

Frankly, I think the days of candidates with messages is over. Nobody wants to committ to a position. Just a bunch of mealy-mouthed crapola, and that includes the Bushster.

It was balanced and it didn't gloat. It laid out his platform so deliberately that it will carry him into the next state's campaign with seamless consistency. He really does have a strong, positive message now.

I wonder how far some here will have to come down if he starts to surge nationwide. I worry about the rhetoric. I like the way he reached out to the other candidates supporters and congratulated them. Their every contribution will reflect on the ultimate nominee against Bush; every contribution, good or ill.

I'm also impressed by the high turnout. It's not insignificant that he inherited the majority of that. I've heard a lot around here about ultimately unifying behind the nominee. I think our differences should increasingly shift to our argument with Bush. There will be no positive result in shredding and grousing over the front runner(s) every weakness.

Kerry is serious and professional. He was very strong during the Teddy Ruxpin (Wolf Blitzer) interview after the speech. The CNN people tried to paint him as a "liberal" and Kerry gave very muscular response and kept himself on the initiative.

He was never one of my favorites.

His message does not resonate with me at all. I have no idea what is driving him forward but keeping others like Dean, Edwards, and even Clark back.
