As you give to liberal causes, don't forget about the sciences

The scientific method and logical reasoning are under attack, threatened by well-funded, well-organized, and zealous religious groups meaning to replace a truth for their truth - "the" truth about creation, intelligent design, and theistic-based "logic."

Over the last four years of the Bush administration, scientists have been abused and mistreated. Their work has been squelched, misquoted and manipulated to support the narrow interests surrounding the administration.

As we are still a year away from the mid-term elections, keep in mind the scientific communities that need our support. Museums, galleries, children's programs, and the like, all need our financial backing.

Please remember these causes next time you have that little extra cash.
