We should ALL be focused on 2006. It's not just about me and my not caring - NO ONE should be looking that far ahead right now. 2006 is far too important to fuck up by wasting time on whether or not someone is going to run for President three years from now.

Yes, we need to focus on '06, but waiting until the '08 election cycle to decide what we're going to do then is not going to help.

If we're going to win in '06, '08, and beyond, we need to consider long-term strategy. We've "lost" the past two presidential elections in part because we tried to morph our party into whatever it was that we thought people wanted at that moment. Instead, we should be looking to develop a long-term identity that will win us elections now and in the future, on local, state, and the federal levels.

And, no offense, but many people can discuss more than one topic at a time. There's nothing stopping anyone from working on '06 while considering strategy for '08.

But I have analyzed Hillary's voting record, and it is not that bad. Last year, she was 65% of a progressive, which puts her somewhere in the upper middle of Democrats progressive-wise. There are many worse, including practically the entire field of Presidential hopefuls with a D by their name.

She is as far right as I go....period.

And she is 15% less of a Democrat than Kerry, for those of you who wish to know where she stands versus our last attempt at the WH.

If she gets the nomination, she gets my vote. I also reserve the right to withdraw it based on her record from now until then, as well.

For 2006, we need to replace our House and Senate Democrats on the lower end of the progressive scale with more progressive Democrats during the primaries. We need to fry some conservative Dem butt to let 'em know we are not going to put up with complacency any more. Some, like Hillary, are starting to get it just this month.

Leiberman, on the other hand, deserves nothing.
