My idea for a Democratic Primary Calendar
Before everyone shouts "stop talking about 2008 and focus on 2006"...keep in mind that the DNC-appointed Commission will be making a recommendation to the DNC by the end of the year, regarding how it recommends the primaries in 2008 be structured.

The following is an editorial I recently had published in my college alternative press magazine.

The article can be read in full at the following link:

My plan (which we will call, for the purposes of this article, “The Bicoastal Plan”) strives to provide some semblance of fairness and regional balance to the post-New Hampshire process.

The NASS plan clearly gives a numerical advantage to states in the East and, to a lesser extent, in the South and Midwest, while proverbially leaving the Southwest/Pacific states in the dust. On the other hand, while the numbers and ratios in the Bicoastal Plan aren’t perfect, they are a lot more similar and equitable to one another than those calculated from the NASS proposal.
