There is a great debate in this country about whether people should be required to present ID (like a drivers license) when they vote. I have always felt that this was not an unreasonable requirement. The liberals have always told me otherwise.
Well, I'm not sure they knew HOW ... but the WERE right. Months after driving through drivers license requirements in Indiana, Governer Mitch Daniels (Bush's Bitch Mitch) is CLOSING Gary Indiana's Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
Think about it for a second. If you don't have a driver's license, you can't vote. If you don't have a BMV local and convenient, you're less likely to get a license (or Indiana non-driver's ID). With motor voter, you put the Cherry on top. Mitch Daniels is bankrupting the state and using shutting down outlets for black people to vote. Gary is WAY majority black and hispanic. Gary is also the 5th largest city in the state.
I STILL think that you should have to present a secure picture ID when voting. But if this is a requirement, than I think you have to a) Make sure that there is equal access to license registration branches pursuant to the 14th Amendmant. b) There should be no license registration fee since it is now a requirement to vote.
And of course, we need equal access to polling stations as well. Minority city dwellers should not be forced to wait on line, in the rain and snow for hours while surburbanites need only wait 15 minutes. As a nation we have plenty of $$$ to waist on Iraq, we should have enough money to purchase enough voting machines so people have less time to wait than they do for a checkout line at Wal-Mart.
