One of the worst accusation the GOP can make is that of 'playing politics'
Edited on Wed Sep-21-05 07:21 AM by harlinchi
It is rarely true of those they accuse; they say it nevertheless. Why are our leaders afraid to make the accusation themselves, particularly when it is so patently true? What was the appointment of Mr. Brown to FEMA other than playing politics with the emergency response system? The number of times where the GOP politicized a situation for various purposes (e.g., political advantage, punitive actions, private gain, etc.) is large. Why not say so?

1. Call it projection...call it a smear campaign, what ever you like
They have made up a set of rules where they just do pretty much whatever their little hearts desire. And it is our job to just sit there and take it. Unfortunately, to many dems do just that. I have never seen anyone play politics like the pukes in the past 5 years. Even when they control everything, they STILL play politics.

2. Exactly, and the media does it too. It marginalizes the opponent
and makes the opponent appear to be an opportunist who is not to be taken seriously.
IMO, Dems need to add a a disclaimer-so to speak- when they make critical statements, something to the effect that their concerns for our country and people goes beyond just a simple game of politics and to suggest such underlying motives discredits their service to this country.
