I am so LIBERAL
I think that you should be able to cut an eight month old fetus into bits and pull them out one by one if that is what the woman wants. The rights of the woman ALWAYS supercede the rights of the baby!! If it can't get out here on its own, it doesn't DESERVE any rights!! Gay marriage?? Hell, YES!! Any other language would be WRONG!! Cause as a good liberal, I know that the actual freedom is much less important than what you call it. So unless we can call it what we want, FUCK IT, even if it is the exact same thing. I think we should not only pull out of Iraq, I think we should also DISBAND THE ARMY and the Department of Defense and create the Department of Peace and Love!! I think NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO WORK!! And we should take the all the money away from the wealthy and redistribute it amongst the population. I think we should not only legalize drugs, the government should GIVE THEM AWAY. And PORNOGRAPHY is FREEDOM OF SPEECH...no, wait...pornography objectifies women and everybody knows that liberals hate that...DOWN WITH PORNOGRAPHY!!!

That I don't even know that liberalism is about empiricism and reason over sentiment and dogma, and favors coalition building on issues with a mass base of support (hence NEW DEAL LIBERALISM)over self affirming divisive ideological politics.

This thread will probably be locked before I can post this

10. Gee, I was giving readers some credit.
I didn't realize that you had to have that dripping sarcasm doo dah on your post. But I have noticed that is the way a lot of people get away with being obnoxious. I have to learn the html for that one.

13. I think you were giving too much credit to your writing, not your readers.

15. I get frustrated with talking points, no matter whose they are
It seems to me that the word 'compromise' isn't so horrible in every instance. On some things, damn skippy nobody should compromise. But you cannot achieve significant social change in one big leap. It takes many small steps. It seems short-sighted to me to brand anyone who does not barf back up the entire progressive/liberal agenda as a freeper. I have seen that here. I made the mistake of trying to figure out if pulling out of Iraq really is the right thing to do and got smacked for it. Some other guy proposes some limits on abortion to take the heat off the subject and gets smacked. Somebody else mentions that maybe we should try civil unions and gets smacked. It seems so all-or-nothing.

Well, we are getting to where we have nothing and I am not enjoying it so much.

6. Now
None of that makes any sense. But that is how we are seen by the 'other side'. We think they are scary nutjobs and they think we are scary nutjobs. I do not understand why someone who says that we should try some compromises on issues is instantly attacked. Because we can either compromise or lose altogether on some of this stuff. Whether you like it or not, for awhile at least, the middle road might be the only one headed even remotely in the direction you want to go, even if you are a way left liberal.

11. Let us explain the concept of a "majority" to you. Have a seat.
OTOH--to hell with it. I suspect your "profile" will be enabled soon enough that I needn't waste my time.

12. I think compromise frequently makes sense
but if someone starts out a discussion announcing that anyone who disagrees is an extremist and then follows up with the clear message that those who disagree are fascist. Compromise isn't very probable

16. Locking this.
I suspect that this was intended to be sarcastic, but it hasn't been read as such. As it is, it appears to be flamebait.
