read some of the ignorant * remarks in this article. i shouldn't be shocked, but for these statements to come out of the mouth of the president* is just unbelievable. shameful use of terrible disaster to try to raise his poll numbers.

Bush Compares Responses to Hurricane, Terrorism

WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 - President Bush on Wednesday for the first time linked the American response to terrorism and its response to Hurricane Katrina, declaring that the United States is emerging a stronger nation from both challenges, and saying that terrorists look at the storm's devastation "and wish they had caused it."

Mr. Bush himself has never publicly compared his role after the 2001 attacks to his role now in the rebuilding effort on the Gulf Coast or in the preparations for the landfall of Hurricane Rita. But the White House recently described at length how deeply he was involved in calling governors and federal officials to make sure that relief efforts and preparations for Hurricane Rita were carefully coordinated.

White House officials have talked about how he has used the secure video system at the White House, which was installed to let him talk to commanders in Afghanistan and Iraq, to speak with federal officials in Louisiana and other states.

Until the speech on Wednesday, Mr. Bush had kept the issues of terrorism, Iraq and the hurricane separate. But the public has not: polls show declining approval of Mr. Bush's handling of both Iraq and Hurricane Katrina. By suggesting for the first time that America's enemies were pleased to see the devastation caused by the hurricane, he appeared to be linking the country's natural and human challengers.

1. Which means they are going to probably respond militarily.

What concerns me is what I think should concern all Americans. If these individuals are desiring global domination, they already have "occupied" New Orleans and now a Cat 5 is headed for Texas, which would speculatively allow for Bush/Cheney to invite more troops (Mexican and/or Dutch like they did in NO) and more Martial law onto this soil.

Again, cui bono?

Americans need to look at the repetitive patterns of aggression and domination from this Administration. The patterns from 9/11 on do not seem to be isolated. They seem connected as we all have pondered.

I do hope I am incorrect in my concern, however, can we once again, afford such luxury to ignore the past, albeit very recent patterns? I don't think it is self serving to indulge in such denial.

Look at the patterns of this Administration and look at New Orleans and think about it.

Bush/Cheney can declare whatever they wish. Their credibility is so low right now that no one pays any attention to what they say or declare including the military. And I now have two nephews serving in the military.
