two political cartoons I drew at work today
while on the phones they let me draw and recently started drawing some political cartoons. These first two I drew tonight and the third one I drew either last week or the week before, I forget.

NOTE: the advertised domain, americannero.com is in the process of being forwarded the site http://www.greatamericannero.com which is a work in progress. (I just started it, hopefully will get a quite a bit more done on it this weekend).

this is one I posted last week....

2. That's some very decent artwork

Very good indeed.

However, cartoon-format-wise, there are some legibility/clarity issues that I'm sure you'll come to terms with.

edit: "Conceptual Economy" is the phrase I was looking for. /edit

4. You've got TREMENDOUS TALENT, Sincerely, better than most cartoonists
Thank you! Keep up the good work! Your sense of proportion and draftsmanship is excellent. I have been looking at and saving political cartoons for years, and yours is the best new talent I have come across.

Your chimp in diapers characterisation of Bush in the second cartoon is classic!

One point: less verbiage. Find a way to get the point across without so many words. Your graphics are so strong that words get in the way. Some will always be necessary, but less is more.

Polish the images. Develop an "educated line" and refine your work. It looks rough, but the skill still shines through. Refine and it will be a total knockout, up there with Ben Sargent (my current favorite).

GO FOR IT! You are very talented. Please post often on DU.

5. I'm super impressed by the third on. The robots idea is highly original
Man, you are good! Refine the lines and shading in the third one and it will be fabulous. It is just short of fabulous now. All the elements in it are good, the composition is great, it has just the right amount of verbiage. I would suggest changing "Battle" to "Siege".

The robots idea is brilliant. It is as original as they come! This one's a definite keeper.

Thank you!
