Bush Booze COVER-UP: WHO is involved?

Okay, suspend the disbelief that many of you DUers seem to have because this story was broken by the Nat'l Enquirer and not the New York Times. Now, let's assume the Chimp HAS BEEN drunk as a skunk for weeks, perhaps months, now. Let's assume he has little bottles of Jack Daniels, Wild Turkey or Peppermint Schnapps hidden around the Oval Office, on Air Force One, at Camp David, at the Crawford Ranch. Let's assume he's been gulping it like there's no tomorrow, before meetings, fundraisers, public appearances, speeches, in private.

Ponder this:

* Would it not be obvious to those around him that he's as pickled as a Kosher Dill?

* Wouldn't the smell of alcohol cling to him like a lonely sailor?

* Wouldn't his flushed, ruddy complexion and sliding lower jaw give it all away? Perhaps he is stumbling and tripping more than usual? Perhaps that recent fall from a bicycle was really a DUI?

Questions:

* WHO around him KNOWS about B*sh's insatiable thirst for booze?

* WHO leaked the story to The Enquirer? Was it Laura?

* Is a sitting president's alcoholism GROUNDS FOR IMPEACHMENT?

* Has there been a willful COVER-UP of the president's lust for drink? And are these people, if employed by We The People, not obligated morally or legally, to come forward and tell their story?

* How many beers does B*sh drink before Condi looks good? And vice versus?

Enquiring minds want to know.

are well-stocked with good booze for visiting guests. I doubt those places are dry. He has a good stock on hand to sneak in to.

We taxpayers are his supplier.

3. The only way alcohol could make Condi
look good is if you poured whiskey in your eyes and set them on fire.

5. I think this is a bogus story
because the reason they gave for Bush's lapse was that he was concerned about all the poor people in NO, that he cared so much about them that he couldn't stand it anymore, etc, etc. Phoney.

9. Just because the reasoning was incorrect doesn't mean the original
supposition is also. Of course, I think he never stopped using so therefore can't be back ON again.

14. That's what I think too
Actually, the story sounds like a Rovian plant designed to bring Bush sympathy and make him appear human.

18. I bought the sober rattling up until now...
Until this very moment, I'd bought all the sober rattling. But now I think it IS possible or even likely that he's been using or drinking for a LONG time.

As I've said earlier, those red blotches on his face were a give-away to me. Not to mention the condition of his eyes. I have no comment about the jaw thing, because I tend not to watch him live, only forced to see occasional photos of It.

17. Bush was concerned about his legacy--not the people
The shit had finally hit the fan and he knew it.

Iraq is a mess.
The country is going bankrupt.
And now he gets the dubious distinction of being the only president to have an entire city disappear under water.

Not exactly the great war president thing he'd envisioned.

Cheney would step in.
I don't think Alcoholism is grounds for impeachment -- does not sound like a high crime or misdemeanor.

12. Who leaked the details to the N.E. is the question of the hour? I imagine
their lawyers have vetted it up one side and down the other and they must have a pretty darn good witness. Who could it have been? A family member? A servant? Who else could be that close to him while he was trying to swill some booze?

28. I'm sure that Al and W have a beer or two together all the time.
:eyes:

Seriously, if the story is true (and considering the publication, the chance of that is slim to none), it was probably leaked by a waiter or a cleaning person or someone like that for a cash payoff.

I don't think close family members would leak this unless there were some ulterior motive.
