Bush's recent quest for Bianca seemed a bit out of the ordinary.


Gender: Girl
Pronunciation: bee-AHNK-ah
Origin: Italian
Meaning: "White, pure."
Notes: Variant of Blanche (French). The meek younger daughter in Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew", a courtesan in "Othello", and the subject of a song in a spin-off musical "Kiss Me, Kate." Also made famous by former Rolling Stone wife Bianca Jagger, who was a Nicaraguan fashion model, peace worker, and diplomat. The name is appropriate for a fair-haired baby. Blanca is the Spanish form.
