Should dems stand w/ the war now & vote against it AFTER they get in offic
Would that be effective? That is, managing an image of strong on defense, against terrorism, putting America first, and attracting right-leaning centrists, and then AFTER getting into office and getting that power, they can work to stop the war?

That way, they get more votes and get into office, and they can actually do stuff after they GET the power.

3. NO!!! They need to slam it now, next November, and when ...

The spineless neo-DINOs will deserve to lose.

4. In other words,
act like Repigs. No thanks. Speak the truth--in the long run truth always beats a lie. :)

5. yes ... let's base our entire Iraq position only on politics ...
if you really want to just play politics with Iraq, wouldn't the smartest political move be to represent the majority view???? ... you might think of this kind of as a democracy ...

here is what the majority view is and note that the percentages are probably much higher when you just poll Democrats:

source: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/17/politics/17poll.html

"When asked how long American troops should remain in Iraq, for example, 52 percent of people interviewed called for an immediate withdrawal, even if that means abandoning President Bush's goal of restoring stability to that country."

6. Do I understand your suggestion?
Are you condoning lying to the public and then after accomplishing your goal of getting in office, do the exact opposite of what your stance was?

Isn't that the concern about Judge Roberts? Isn't that the criticism of Bush/Cheney? Isn't that what 90% of the thread here claim the RW is doing?

If you are advocating hypocrisy, I say no.

7. Absolutely not. This is why people won't vote for them...they do not
stand their ground for what is right.
