16. I've already forgiven Dean for the comment. I've not forgotten, however...

...what bad judgment Dean showed in making that comment in the first place. It made a very small amount of tactical sense, but demonstrated a whale load of strategic blindness on Dean's part. Sorry, but Dean's the worst political tactician to achieve high office at least since Gray Davis, if not Al Gore. In a three week time frame the man has gone from point A, a hair's breadth away from inevitability, to Point Z, struggling to stay in a viable position.

Dean's a good man and he has a LOT of heart. I respect the hell out of him. But Patton he's not.

You seem to think of Clark as a mealy-mouthed intellectual who can't make the hard sell. So why are you independently offering him a VP slot/partnership with Dr Dean? The only explanations I can see is that (1) you don't think we need to have a strong voice debating against Cheney, or (2) you see Clark only in terms of plugging the glaringly obvious holes in your candidate's qualifications. In either case, you don't make Dean seem like a very attractive prospect to the Clark side.

It seems like Dean supporters are very eager to join up with Clark supporters. Clark people, on the other hoof, keep acting aloof. What's going on here? Why are we suddenly the belles of the ball? I would think that reaching out to the Edwards camp would be strategically a better move for the pro-Dean crowd.

I'd vote for Dean in a New York minute if he were the nominee. But right now the overtures from Dean people feels a little bit like the ex-bad girlfriend calling me up and trying to get back together with me now that she's "got her act together." I sincerely love you people, but for me it's still no deal.

22. I'll vote for Dean if he is the nominee, even campaign a bit, But

I would be big on Clark/Dean. I don't think Wes will go for the VP unless he thinks he would be good for the country. It's not an ego thing, he would have to be convinced that HE would make a positive difference and be effective for the type of change the country needs. (on edit, I think that he also would have to believe that nobody else would be better in the position)

He can have less hassle and make more money staying in the private sector.
