2. All she has to do is mention she's considering taking Bush's kob in 08
She sure as hell is smarter then Bush, Cheney, Condi, Delay, and I believe she would make dog-shit out of Rove on a one on one debate.

Cindy we love ya darlin..!

8. I think you miss the point
A person torn to pieces and dragged through the ugly, to then emerge with purpose and strength, committed to a cause bigger than herself radiates a beauty of a mother and a human that transcends the physical.

14. Well Bush must think Jeff Gannon is the hottest since he
gave Gannon more WH access than Clinton gave Monica. George Bush is (at least) a 3 time traitor.

Though the Bush twins are kind of cute as well.

18. Okay, I'm gonna throw up now--not because of Cindy but
because of the images of Batshit Babs I've had to suffer through in this thread.

So here's the question: anyone have THE PICTURE? You know, Wes'n'Cindy'n'Charlie all together?

I need that pic. I need it bad. Heeeeeellllpppp....

19. Cindy Sheehan: making sure that even Jesse Jackson dislikes the left.
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 12:27 AM by robre

This woman is turning the serious anti-war movement into a farce, just like the people that go out and protest anything other than the war on the day set aside to protest the war. This is not a game. Anything that denatures our message pushes that day we will see American servicemen and women finally return home further forward EVERY - TIME - IT - HAPPENS.

21. What in the bloody hell are you talking about?
A grieving mother who has lost a son in Iraq - made the ultimate sacrifice - and has drawn worldwide attention to the anti-war movement is "denaturing" the cause?

HUH?

22. Don't you get it?
When you let singular people define your movement you put yourself in a position of extreme danger as singular people are fallible by means other than honest argument. We need to have visible spokespeople that are capible of using logic primarily rather than relying on the emotional appeal , as our enemies do, and these spokesmen need to have all their ducks in a line, so to speak.

Maybe I'm wrong and the idea of an Al Gore democrat is a dying one, but this idea came closer to winning than Kerry did.

23. Oh please.
1) No one is "letting her define the movement" she is merely contributing to it.

2) Kerry won, but since the Chairman of the Bush re-election committee for the state of Ohio, Wally O'Dell, owns the Diebold machines that "counted" the votes that little fact will never see the light of day.

Now, back on track.

Cindy has a right to speak her piece and be heard. She doesn't define the movement, she simply exists as part of it. What's your problem, exactly?

Oh, and nice Freeper-esque method of taking pot-shots at Kerry when this thread isn't even about him.

25. I don't. What concerns me though is where how some of these pictures
will be misused. I am sure the Rove machine is already plotting.

26. You don't think its a bit repulsive how she clinged on Rev. Jackson?
Everyone has a line and judging by Rev. Jackson's facial expressions she was crossing it.

I realize we have been looking for a representative to respond to comments that jingoistic footsoldiers make all the time about the military not supporting our message. Personally, I think we should see above the fallacy of this argument rather than cling to the first person that comes along and allows us to refute it directly.

27. I don't find it repulsive, but I'm sure many red-staters do.
Karl Rove will exploit that.

28. You are correct.
"When you let singular people define your movement you put yourself in a position of extreme danger as singular people are fallible by means other than honest argument."

That is an outstanding statement. That is perfect. It is logical, and it is pragmatic.

Good for you.

I appreciate Sheehan, but I am not into this worship. Same goes for Hugo Chavez and whatever religion du jour pops up on DU.

24. Not true at all.
I've been protesting the war longer than Cindy Sheehan has, as have many other people. We have been pretty much ignored, called unpatriotic, called old hippies, druggies, whatever. Cindy is very obviously a normal American mom who has had the guts to put herself out there and get the attention of the entire nation. Consequently, the rest of us protesters are being noticed FINALLY, too. It's obvious from looking at pictures from the various rallies and counter-rallies that we're not the weird ones.
