wanna bet Bush will pull a Swaggert/Limbaugh on his drinking?
When the turds hit the fan on his drinking, the bets in my house are that it'll either be a "Oh, Lord I have sinned" Jimmy Swaggert moment and we have to love the sinner OR a Rush Limbaugh "I was in terrible pain and got addicted to Oxycontin."

The RW will get all huffy and say we have the forgive the sinner just like God is doing, a la Swaggert, or we'll have to excuse the drinking a la Limbaugh (poor Bush was in "pain" over Katrina, the war, the misery Cindy Sheehan was causing him, whatever).

This guy NEVER takes any responsibility for his own actions. The RW will make him the Prodigal Son and the next thing we know he'll be a hero all over again for going bravely into rehab!

13. Ummmmmmmm
while I believe * is either a dry drunk or has started drinking again, neither of those sources are usually considered credible in my humble opinion.......

9. The National Enquirer has a big story on it
but the MSM isn't touching it with a ten foot pole, as far as I know. It just surfaced Thursday, I think, and mention of it was picked up on Stephanie Miller, Randi Rhodes and Ed Schultz, who interviewed the editor of NE on his radio show.

2. Admit to failure in ANY way? NEVAH!
He can't even admit to himself he has a problem with the booze, do you think he would own up to the American people? Not until they pry the empty bottle out of his cold, dead fingers.

5. see? I am human!
I was just thinking of that the other day. Expect the scrub (once he's confronted with this, if that happens) to turn to rove for some much needed "man of the people" spin.
We've already heard from his idiot wife on how much he grieves for each U.S. death in Iraq - not to mention the 100,000 or so civilian deaths, but who cares about them anyway.

10. booze
But you don't understand. The republican philosophy of small government and moral values is infallable, so when everything goes south, boozing (no doubt caused by an ungrateful populace and the 'liberal' media) will be the scapegoat. Don't you see, it's all OUR fault.
