Kucinich: Organic farmers protect standards

UNITY -- Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, D-Ohio, praised organic farmers Sunday at the Common Ground Country Fair, telling them that they grow integrity and protect organic standards.

"Your lives are about truth and integrity," he said. "It's about trust."

Kucinich spoke to about 2,000 people on the common at the fair, which on Sunday ended its 29th annual three-day run. Kucinich blasted the U.S. government for not working adequately to label and test genetically engineered products.

"Unfortunately, our nation at this moment is disconnected with the vision that is represented here today", he said.
