But let's all face facts: successfully coopting your opponents message is one of the hallmarks of the winning politician.

You gotta give Kerry credit for recognizing the strength of both Dean's and Edwards message. The question is, does he really believe it? Does Edwards?

I believe Dean means it. I want to think Edwards means it, but it he really ready to propose a $16 hour minimum wage (what it would take for a single mother of two to stay above the poverty line in North Dakota)?

Personally, I don't want the race over too soon. If Kerry is unstoppable, I want Dean and Edwards and Kucinich in it for as long as possible. If Kerry ends up the nominee, we need him so far into out message that he has to stand by it, run on it, and deliver it.

And at the end of the day, that's all I want out of my party come November.

All we get from Kerry is the same old spiel. He never really offers to people anything except repealing the tax cuts for the rich. On the other hand, Clark and Lieberman are offering to actually RAISE income taxes on the rich, and Edwards is offering to raise taxes on unearned income.

Clark, Lieberman and Edwards; plans really suck in comparison to what we really need, but it is better than what Kerry offers, which is basically just empty rhetoric, however polished it might be.

this is Kerry's (and our) only hope.

They will try to paint Kerry as a Benedict Arnold traitor for his participation in VVAW.
They will try to paint him as a waffler with no true beliefs of his own.
They will try to paint him as just another cheap political opportunist.
Well call him what you want, but he has stood up for liberal ideals for 35 years now. But more importantly, he has been fighting for his country. Whether it was enlisting in the Navy to serve, or coming back to fight to end an unjust war, the bottom line is he has served with honor. And he is a REAL THREAT to the status quo.

So let's band together, and show that we care more about our country than our party.
Let us band together and perhaps even scare Bush and Cheney to death before we cast a vote.

He was a DEMOCRAT of the first rank. The guy was called the "Counsel to Presidents." From FDR to Jimmy Carter.

For Truman, Clifford helped draft the legislation that created the CIA and the National Security state. That led to the Secret Government-Big Business-Mafia-NAZIs we call the BFEE.

Clifford was the power broker who fronted for BCCI, the crooked Pakistani bank used by the BFEE to bribe politicians and move money for the connected from Jackson Stephens to George W Bush, build the Pakistani bomb, peddle drugs, launder money, pay terrorists of the right and left, from Abu Nidhal to Ollie North.

Anyway. Kerry busted the guy and he busted BCCI. As President, Kerry would bust the BFEE.

Yes, Kerry voted against Gulf War 1. Why? Because it was a BFEE set-up. GOOGLE "April Glaspie" and "Saddam Hussein" and learn why.

Kerry voted to PROTECT America after 9-11. BTW: How do you define "Democratic base?" What Karl Rove says? Clinton and the Democratic establishment wanted Saddam out in 1998.

There were deals worked out...the very nature of a caucus guarantees that. Gephardt threw his supporters to Kerry (will be interesting to see what he got out of the deal). Kucinich threw his to Edwards (so much for Mr. Integrity). It's no secret that the power structure in the Democratic Party was threatened by someone who could generate the kind of fundraising and support OUTSIDE of their influence that Dean was doing and so he had to be stopped. None of this is news... it's been discussed repeatedly on DU.
