Privatizing FEMA

The word hasn't come up yet, regarding Halliburton contracts on Katrina, so there it is.

1. Privatize the Government.....
Let's out source them to Kindergarten...they all act like school kids.

3. The thing that P*sses me off
is that for almost my entire working life I have worked in the public sector for non-profits that operate on government grants that were issued on a competitive bid or grant application process. We have tried to spend every freaking dollar wisely, believing that we would be audited and might not have our programs funded again if the auditors thought we were playing loose and fast with the public's money.
So where are these private companies getting off with their huge contracts that no one else had a chance to go after--that invariably involve unsupported and undocumented expenditures that could feed school kids for years or provide transportation to the elderly in perpetuity or pay for enough teacher aids to get every kid in the country literate.
Thanks a lot B*sh regime.

4. Kick, because it's the trend in everything they do.
Let a disaster occur (or worse) and mop up with their forces, strengthening their forces in the process, destroying federal programs set up for these purposes, and doing it on our taxpayer dollar to top it off.

They'll let the schools fall apart, NASA, whatever you want to name (have fun) and "fix" it with their own private system. Enron taught them well.

5. Kick one last time because DeLay is making people forget that they're
privatizing all aspects of government they can, and are getting away with it while the headlines switch from one banality to the next. Under the surface of things, the money continues to change hands, from the taxpayer to the corporation through the government.

Makes you wonder why we pay taxes for things like FEMA, when we also have to pay for BushCo hiring Halliburton to do that work. Double taxation! Works like a charm.
