Here are the highlights:

1. Bush's energy conservation call is "half-hearted," "ridiculous" "Why didn't he say it five years ago?"

2. The oil companies are evil price-gougers. Bush will never take on the oil companies. They are "exploiting tragedy" and "crippling working Americans."

3. Bush is on the ropes: "He can't recover on rhetoric. He needs a big win" like catching Osama or a big victory over the Iraqi insurgents.

I saw a clip of that - the MOST unconvincing statement I think has ever come out of him - and there are many. Like he really meant it. Yeah, sure. Oh yeah, you could tell how much his heart was in it...

What a disgrace. I'm glad, at least, to see the statement made that Americans are all through giving him the benefit of the doubt, over and over and over. MAN! Unbelievable - he's even squandered that. But I'm glad we're finally seeing that day. No more free ride for you, george. Party's over. Now comes the hangover. And if we can't impeach your ass and remove you from office, you're gonna wind up having to slog through three more years of no-more-benefit-of-the-doubt. Only last night I was flipping around the TV and came accross him literally screaming at Charlie Rangel about how great Bush has been for the poor.

He actually said to him, "What more is Bush supposed to do go over to these peoples houses and teach them?"

Apparantly for several days since Katrina he has been promoting misleading statistics to claim that Bush has done more for poverty then Clinton, that poverty is better since Bush then Clinton, etc.

Maybe his nickname should be two-face.

In fact, as his rates have nose-dived and stations have begun to drop him, he's already been more open - in his ill-informed and unconvincing way - to challenge the administration and GOP talking points. I'm guessing he considered the alternative of moving even more to the right, but it would have looked absurd (even for Bill) after his constant pretense of political independence.

12. O'Reilly's bait and switch

This is a common technique for Billy-boy. Whenever he appears on one of the major broadcast networks, such as ABC or NBC, he tries to act the role of an even-handed moderate, expressing criticism of the administration, etc. He knows that he is getting exposure to a much wider audience than he has on FauxNews. His goal is to attract some of those viewers to watch his FauxNews, both to help increase his ratings and to expose viewers to his real, redmeat, nutjob viewpoint.

Yet O'Reilly has nothing to say about the pro-corporate Bush energy policy that was recently passed, enacting anti-price-gouging legislation, or a windfall profits gas tax. And why would Bush "take on" an industry that's been so supportive of him?

Bush is on the ropes: "He can't recover on rhetoric. He needs a big win" like catching Osama or a big victory over the Iraqi insurgents.

Catching Osama will not slow down the insurgency. And with the current U.S. troop levels and equipment, victory over the insurgency can only be achieved with nuclear or biolgical weapons that will take out far too many civilians.

People gave Bush the benefit of the doubt because Bill and his esteemed colleagues practically ordered them to!

At the risk of doubting his sincerity, I think he has an ulterior motive--endorsing the LEAST likely opposing candidate!


What are you REALLY up to, Bill? Are your ratings now so bad that you've been forced to venture into the the broadcast TV world disguised as a moderate? Has Bush's inability to continue to live on rhetoric alone taken food off your plate, too?

"Billy" (as Phil diminuitively called him) AND Scarborough are both looking particularly panicky. Considering their sliding ratings, they no doubt realize they MUST soon change their "tune". And in doing so, admit that "Daddy" is not always right, does not always tell the truth, and can not always be relied on to save us. For a Freeper, that can be world-shattering indeed. As most dysfunctional families show again and again, it's far easier to continually deny and turn from "daddy's" abuse, than to just walk away and live without daddy.

That aside, doesn't Scarborough look increasingly puffy in the face lately? Whatever's "eating" him, doesn't he realize the camera adds...
