Do they never tire of doing this?
Bush warns of upsurge of violence in Iraq.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/28/bush.ap/index.html

President Bush on Wednesday warned there will be an upsurge in violence in Iraq before next month's voting, but said the terrorists will fail. "Our troops are ready," he said.

Bush's remarks in the Rose Garden came a day after Iraqi and U.S. forces announced they had killed Abdullah Abu Azzam, the No. 2 al-Qaeda leader in Iraq, during a weekend raid in Baghdad.

_______

Bush's remarks also came an hour after Tom Delay was indicted.

HEY! LOOK OVER HERE! OVER HERE! NEVER MIND THAT! LOOKY AT THIS!

Asswipes.

I think our leader is a #2 also.

3. Well silly, everytime we kill the number 2 man, they just promote another.

It's a vicious cycle. The #3 man turns into the #2 man and then we kill him and so on and so on. Too bad their recruitment is doing so well, at that pace we may never bring freedom and democracy to the oil.... I mean people.

6. They must be really desperate, because they are finding
plenty of recruits and killing lots of people. Or something like that...

4. How will that work for him?
If it's true, more soldiers will die. That will very much work against him. It'd be like him shooting himself in the foot.

If it isn't true, it'll be just another false alarm. Aren't people tiring of this?

This cannot work in his favor either way. So, if it isn't true, why would he say it?

5. Never tire of it. Lives are expendable where cash and power
can be grasped.

He always keeps the Iraq stuff upfront. And really, so should we.

Think of all spinning plates:

DSM
DeLay
Plamegate
Election fraud
Voter suppression
Katrina incompetence
Plunging economy and job market
Torture scandal
Boozegate
Gas prices
Frist

--It goes on.

7. Nice geometric arrangement.
I have suggestions for "-gate" names that roll off the tongue:

Plamegate -> traitorgate

Boozegate -> liquorgate

Katrina -> floodgate

not all my creations, and honestly, I don't like the "-gate" thing anyway, but may as well use nice-sounding versions for sound bite purposes.

8. I don't like the "gate" thing either. But why fight it?
It's been around for too long now.

I even once pissed & moaned on DU about how I think it diminishes a scandal and elevates molehills when you give them the "gate" suffix.

Feh! why bother? As long as we're slamming the appropriate heads in those numerous "gates", it's all good.
