But at the expense of the general US economy, perhaps?

Number of US Millionaires Reaches Record 9M

Additionally, at the same time, the US poverty rate is escalating. So, people at the top are getting wealthier while everyone else is falling down.

No surprise. Bush has been president almost five years now. But, the poverty rate is also up. So, he can say, as planned, things are looking up! (not funny, I know).

2. Getcher Economic Apartheid - right here, right now!
The gap is turning into a chasm and all those incredibly stupid middle class and working class people who vote Republican because they expect to one day become wealthy and benefit from the GOP policies, are getting left in the dust. Their kids and grandkids will struggle their whole lives to pay off the Bush years' deficit - along with those of use who TRIED to get them to take their heads out of the sand and face the economic realities and consequences of Bush/GOP policies.

5. 'Trickle down economics" = the ultra rich are pissing on most of us,
the flag, veterans, America, American democracy, and the American dream.

Any economic policy, taken to extreme limits will be trouble. Capitalism is no different from any other.
