Who will * name to head the FED since Greenspan is leaving.....
on Jan 31. He has no intention of staying on beyond the end of his term. There is already worry with the markets since tims is getting short and no replacement has been named. I think he is leaving just in time, before the pending implosion.

4. Me. I know it is a surprise but Bush said he needed someone
with no experience and was from the other party so if I messed up he could blame the Dems.

16. Seriously, I read it'll probably be Ben Bernanke (sp?)
He's the one who became famous for the often quoted line "we have a printing press and we know how to use it" referring to the Fed's ability to fight deflation. (Don't we just wish that deflation was the problem, now?)

An aside, beggining to think the bond vigilantes (like Mogombo and Fleckenstein) had it right all along, that deflation was never a problem/issue because inflation was already here but not reflected in core CPI since it skips food and energy and doesn't accurately reflect home ownership costs.
