For Clark and Dean to stay in, they need to win at least one state. Edwards needs SC. So if Clark beats Edwards in SC, Edwards is out. Dean's in trouble. These aren't a favorable batch of states for him. His only shot is in Delaware, and I predict Kerry will pick that one up. Maybe an outside chance in New Mexico, but the state has a large veteran population, and thus is favorable to Clark and Kerry. Clark practically has Oklahoma wrapped up, and I say he takes ND too, probably NM and he has great chances in AZ and MO.

So while I still like Dean, his campaign is coming to an end unless he can make a comeback larger than Kerry's was. Edwards is at his crucial point. But in the end, I think he's running for VP. It's going to be tough for him to last this out. Kerry vs. Clark is this year's Bush vs. McCain, with the exception that neither one is a cokesnorting chickenhawk fratboy who only got anywhere due to daddy's dollars and has no reason to be running for President.

1. Nice assessment, BB
Very well done. Yes, last Okla. poll I saw had Clark at something like 32% and his nearest rival, Edwards, at twenty-something.

Did anyone hear CNN saying Edwards claims SC is a must win for his campaign and he'd drop if he doesn't win it?

5. Nice scenario
But I think SC is Edwards pretty strongly. I think we might get OK and possibly one more with some momentum. Expect the media attacks and repub attacks to continue more so on us than the others (and of course from Joe L.).

6. The only person who doesn't realize Joe is irrelevant now is Joe himself
and his 12 supporters.

7. So far this is shaping up to be the year
of the Washington establishment. Relentless attacks will continue as necessary on any outsider campaigns by the dems, repubs, and press. Unfortunately, those seeking the most change in the direction of this country are fighting an uphill fight.

8. Does Edwards have much hope in a Feb 3 state other than SC?
Really, I'm not being snarky.

9. LOL- Clark's campaign began and ended in NH
Has zero political chops. The only candidate born poor? That myth put out by Clark got shattered in the media- Sharpton and Edwards grew up poor too. Clark had NH all too himself while the rest competed for Iowa and he sputtered to a poor third place finish. He is finished. He will lose SC to Kerry or Edwards and that will be the end up of it.

11. There's a lot more than SC up next
he's got Oklahoma wrapped up, and ND, NM, AZ and MO could all go his way. He's far from out now. Coming in 3rd to two candidates in their backyards is hardly a failure. Now his serious competition starts.

12. And since you're aren't aware of the strategy, Clark was originally hoping
for third in NH, then back to his terrian down south.
So we're on track.

But good try. His supporters, however, are not that gullible.

meaning that Bush will have another 4 good years-

Yes, but when you show members of your party the door, you
have to expect that at least a few will walk out through it.

The Dean and Clark supporters have clearly been shown the door.

17. It's gonna be Clark or Edwards
Not sure who will come out on top, but it is to both of their advantages that one drops quickly, otherwise they might keep splitting the vote. Then Kerry will have no challenge at all.

18. Disagree
There are 7 seven states next Tue. If Clark, Dean, and Edwards, take one each, that leaves 4 for Kerry. If kerry gets 4 or more than 4 and noone else emerges as the strongest competitor, it is all over.

So, what really needs to happen is that Clark or Dean or Edwards, needs to win two states with high delegate count. If none of the three can do that, it is over in my humble opinion.

Clark has the best chance I think.

19. Feb 3 up for grabs
I suspect that Kerry will beat Edwards in S.C., with Clark close. In DE, I think Clark will do well - In my travels up and down the state, I have seen far more advertising (yard signs, bumper stickers, etc.) for Clark than I have Dean or Kerry. Clark should do well in OK. and I have no Idea about the rest of the races.

20. Clark is also very strong in NM and AZ
And I believe OK as well. This is going to be an exciting week, but I'm afraid I might go nuclear on my television if the whores keep up the smearing.
