exit polls...by having volunteers taking that info at polling places? I just think it would be good to have another source for that info.
During the 2000 election the media-co-owned exit polling company that normally called elections based on exit polls quit when their figures were not reflecting what was reported to be the actual count. And then that company was dismantled....very fishy.
Should we rely on any media source for this information?

The problem is that if a volunteer for a candidate X asks you who you voted for, you're more likely to say 'X', if I undestand correctly.

I'm not saying it would necessarily be considered "official" , but would simply be there as a watchdog or backup to what is being given as the official exit poll results.
