1. cause the people in Missouri
are like the people in Kansas. I'm sure he was elected by name recognition rather than anything he did. His daddy's friends put big bucks into that campaign.

6. Please remember that not all of us in Missouri
voted for that twit, or for the even bigger twit in D.C. And for that matter, I'm sure there's plenty of irate dems in Kansas, too. We just happen to be outnumbered by the Faux-bots right now.

10. what is happening/being reported in Mo about the Gov.s medicaid
cuts - earlier stories (with cuts impending) sounded draconion. Have they gone into effect, or when are they going into effect?

3. Plenty of God, Gays, Guns votes here, heaven knows
A.K.A. "Fags n' Flags" - same old social issues non-issue horseshit that wins elections for them every single GODDAMNED TIME.

And when abortion's outlawed? Well, then it'll be school prayer. And when all public school students are required to genuflect before crossing the stage at graduation to pick up their useless diploma so they can go an apply for part-time jobs at Mao Mart, then it'll be time to remind the general public that there are homosexuals among us! And how will we deal with this menace? Why, by giving free guns to everyone, provided they aim only at people Pat Robertson says it's OK to hate.

Once we've made it safe to fire, refuse to hire, disenfranchise, legally beat up and shoot gays, it'll be time to bring up flag-burning once again. By the presidential election of 2024, we'll be hotly debating "In God We Trust" on coins and currency, followed in 2028 by the ever-popular stem cell/zygote/blastocyst/embryo Movie Of The Week "scientific" issue, probably sparked because someone within the boundaries of the state who was NOT a Southern Baptist minister was accidently allowed to look through a microscope.

4. Well, no one in my family did, so I can't vouch for the rest of my state.
But I'm thinking God, guns, and gays had something to do with it.

If its any consolation, his approval ratings are in the toilet at the moment.

7. Easy
Sitting governor had a primary challenger. That gave him all the ammunition he needed and depleted Dem resources. People saw him as an innocent boy who would do no harm. When he was attacked, people really really hated his opponent. That's what I was told, anyway.
Their bigot marriage amendment strategy worked, too. They tried to smear every dem in the state with it.
Dems didn't have their shit together here in the last election. That gubernatorial primary should not have happened. I've talked to a lot of higher ups about it. Dems beating each other up in primaries and money down the toilet was not helpful. We had bad candidates and no candidates in some districts. 2006 will be different.
Noone disussed how unethical it was for sec. of state to be running for gov. without resigning. She couldn't throw stones. That was ammunition we needed.

8. You could line up the entire GOP freshman senate class
And ask the same thing. Actually you might keel over in a seizure of laughter and disgust before any words came out of your mouth. I watched every debate on CSPAN and it was like that '88 Dukakis SNL skit, "I can't believe I'm losing to this guy." There was a poll here asking who was the worst. Coburn won by landslide but everyone received deservedly atrocious reviews. That's why I'm not as optimistic about 2006, because if we could lose to a crop like that...
