I just scared myself.

Imagine its time to arrest KKKarl and sieze his office files computer etc etc.
You are in charge of cleaning out his desk and you find in the top drawer amidst the
clutter of saved gum and loose change
a copy of "1984" and it's all dog eared and highlighted. It's bookmarked. You open at the bookmarked page and underlined you read; " "It does not matter whether the war is actually happening, and, since no decisive victory is possible, it does not matter whether the war is going badly. All that is needed is that a state of war should exist."

Lights Out.

3. More scary wag the dog...
" It does not matter if the war is not real. For when it is, victory is not possible. The war is not meant to be won, but it is meant to be continuous.'"

" A hierarchical society is only possible on the basis of poverty and ignorance, this new version is the past and no different past can ever have existed. In principle the war effort is always planned to keep society on the brink of starvation. the war is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects and its object is not the victory over either Eurasia or east Asia but to keep the very structure of society in tact"

1984, George Orwell

'We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality – judiciously, as you will – we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.'"

6. That's Not the Scary Part
Scary is if KKKarl ISN'T arrested, and neither is anybody else of note.

Scary is if next month comes and goes with no indictments and Fitzgerald rides off into the sunset empty-handed.

Seems all too likely at this point.

The media has already curbed its recent bit of feistiness and largely gone back to regurgitating KKKarl Rove's talking points.
Have they gotten the word (not for attribution) that Plamegate is dead?

That would be the scariest thing, because if they can get away with that, they can get away with ANYTHING.
