Jeb opens his mouth on immigration

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush Calls for Changes in U.S. Immigration Policies

-snip-

"Now it's important to look at where we are and to make the necessary adjustments so that we don't choke off international travel. So that we don't choke off international commerce," he said during The Miami Herald's annual Americas Conference.

-snip-

"It is a good thing to have people who want to come to set up their business, to invest here, to use this as a platform for the expansion of their business, whether they're from Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil or Texas."

Bush, a brother of President Bush, said he gets a lot of e-mails from frustrated people who go through Miami International Airport. He also said the federal government should expand scholarship programs for residents in Latin America, the Caribbean and other regions to come study in the U.S.

"The United States has actually pulled back after Sept. 11 with providing visas for foreign students," he said.

4. This is one time I agree with the s.o.b.
Our immigration policies are so hodgepodge, it's ridiculous. I have many friends from Europe and I keep hearing tell after tell about how they're harrassed and humiliated when entering the U.S. just for a vacation. And these are people from countries such as Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, etc. Tourism will suffer, especially in places like Florida, unless these gestapo tactics are stopped at Customs.

5. I certainly will never visit the US again. Not one dime am I going
to spend in your country. Apart from generally boycotting everything US (as far as I can) I will not be fingerprinted, harassed etc.

Which is a shame because your country is beautiful.

Of course - I'm not willing to take the risk, anyway. They are so absolutely batshit crazy that they'd probably take great care to find out whether I maybe gave a three dollar donation to some Kurdish or Palestinian group 20 years ago. And I just might have though I don't remember:)

7. I HOPE you'll miss the money - but I find it uncourteous to say
that you won't miss ME... Maybe I'm a very nice person? Somebody who'll add just THAT to the colourful carpet of life?

I do NOT think that, considering the shape your country is in, you can afford to loose ANY potential ally.
